Lintel
Horizontal timber or stone over door
Long ell
An ell is an old measurement of about 45 inches. Long ell refers to a very long cloth of twill weave with a worsted (combed) warp and woollen (carded) weft.
Mausoleum
A funerary building and/or a large, grand tomb usually holding several members of a family
Metamorphism
The change in the character of a rock.  Usually as a result of increasing temperature and/or pressure.

Métis
People of mixed European and Native American race.

Mica Schists
Schists are medium grained crystalline metamorphic rocks which generally display distinct banding. The rock can be easily split along these bands. Mica is a platy rock forming mineral.
Middle Ages
The period between 1066 and 1485.
Mullion

Nap
The surface of a cloth where the fibres have been fluffed up from the base of the cloth to give a softer finish that covers the woven structure of the cloth.
Navajo
Native people who occupy northern New Mexico, a portion of southern Utah, and part of northern Arizona.  Today they are the largest Native community in the United States.
